Hot tub maintenance

When you have a hot tub shining in your garden, of course you want it to stay beautiful. And not just beautiful, you want it to last for years. Therefore, it is important that you maintain your hot tub regularly. It's not a lot of work to maintain your hot tub properly, but it is important!

Maintained every season

After the hot summer, rainy fall, freezing winter and sunny spring, it is actually always a good time to maintain the hot tub and you should clean the hot tub. If you want to enjoy the hot tub for as long as possible, we recommend giving the hot tub a bigger service every change of season.

During such maintenance, it is useful to take care of the filter system. Clean the tub. Check the wood and varnish it if necessary, and don't forget to clean the hot tub heater. If you do it right, maintaining the hot tub really isn't much work. You just have to do it. The same goes for hot tub water maintenance.

Outside of major maintenance, it is of course important to keep the hot tub clean anyway. You can do that by putting the cover on it to prevent large debris from getting in, regularly knocking out the spark arrestor and backwashing the filter. It also depends on whether or not you have a filtration system for how often you need to change the hot tub water.

Maintaining the filtration system

The filter also definitely needs to be maintained. We recommend doing this every month by turning on the Backwash cleaning. With the Backwash, the filter rinses itself clean and thus can remove even more dirt from the hot tub.

Maintaining the wood

If you want to enjoy the wooden edging in a good condition for as long as possible, you should also maintain it. It is best to clean and check it thoroughly every season. Over time, the natural color of the wood changes under the influence of light, so we recommend treating the wood with tar oil at least once a year.

Stove maintenance

Surely an essential part of the hot tub is the stove. It, too, needs a little love. Regularly remove the ashes from the stove, spray it clean and polish the outside. Also drain the water from the stove by unscrewing the stick so the dirty water can get out and flush it. Also don't forget to tap the spark arrestor regularly if you have one.

Tub maintenance

The maintenance of the plastic tub of the hot tub depends entirely on the condition of the water in the hot tub. We recommend cleaning the tub with a cloth and a non-aggressive household cleaner once the tub is empty. Rinse out the suds before filling the hot tub with water, and don't forget to include the heater. If you clean the tub the moment the water is out of the hot tub, it will always be fresh again the moment you fill it with water again.
