One of the most frequently asked questions in our Experience Center relates to hot tub water maintenance. And that makes sense. Water can be a bubbling place for mold, bacteria and other filth. That's not what we want.
We want clean and fresh hot tub water. Preferably water that will last a while, too. Because replacing the water in the hot tub every weekend is not only a waste. It also creates a barrier when you want to get into the hot tub. When we talk about water maintenance, there are a number of practical and important things you can do.
The filter pump has a natural filtration system, pumping water past filter media and leaving the coarse debris behind. The UV filter brings down the level of microorganisms and kills 90% of the bacteria. This keeps the water clean much longer. Up to 2-3 months, a simple and sustainable solution to save water. If you want to make optimal use of the water, we recommend always adding chemicals as well.
Aquaclean is the ideal solution as chlorine-free water maintenance for hot tubs. It delivers the same powerful results as chlorine, providing crisp, clean water, all without adding even a drop of chlorine. That means double relaxation, because when you leave the hot tub, you don't have to suffer from red eyes, itchy skin or that recognizable chlorine smell.
Order AquacleanThe optimal effect of disinfectants - depends on the correct pH value; which in turn depends on the TA value. With the right TA value, the pH value can remain stable and with the right pH value, disinfectants can perform well. The pH value indicates the acidity of the water. Ideally, it should be between 7.2 and 7.6.
If the pH drops below this level, the added disinfectant is quickly consumed. If the pH value is too high, the effectiveness of the agent is significantly reduced and skin and eye irritations can occur. The TA value represents the total alkalinity (total amount of Alkaline substances) of the water and refers to the ability of the water to neutralize acids and stabilize the TA value. It is best if the TA value is between 80 and 120 ppm (milligrams per liter).
It's also good to know that the weather also affects the water in the hot tub. If the weather suddenly changes from bright sunny weather to heavy rain, the pH level in your hot tub will reflect this. If you add Always Blue to the water, for example, this will ensure that the weather changes have little to no effect on the water.
