Just like everything else in and around your home, a hot tub also needs occasional cleaning. This doesn't have to be every day or every week but depends tremendously on your use. We understand that you may be wondering how best to clean your Ducktub. And what are suitable cleaning products for hot tubs. I'll tell you a little more about that today.
There are different hot tub tubs. You have smooth tubs, embossed tubs or all-wood tubs. The tubs of our Ducktubs are all smooth and consist of as many as seven layers of fiberglass-reinforced plastic with three different coatings on top. For the enthusiast; MAXGUARD SW Gelcoat, AME VPRO Barrier coating, AROPOL M 105 & ENGUARD Topcoat. This will protect your tub from UV light, chlorine and corrosion. And the hot tub will last for years!
And not only does this have a great advantage for the life of the tub; it is also easy to keep clean. Because of the light gray color of the tub, any deposits are easy to see and easy to remove. The moment you see an edge on the water line, for example, you can already wipe it away with your hand. With wooden tubs, tubs with relief or made of another material, this is more difficult.
It is best to clean the hot tub when all the water is out. Do this every time you change the water. It's a small effort and you'll keep your hot tub nice and clean and hygienic. When the hot tub is empty, you can clean the entire tub and there is no suds or detergent in the water. As I mentioned above, cleaning the tub is very easy because of the added coatings.
The cleaning agents for hot tubs that are best to use are actually quite simple. You can choose a special cleaning agent for hot tub tubs, all-purpose cleaner or a soak with dish soap or green soap. You really don't need any harsh agents for this. All you need is ordinary household suds, a cloth and a garden hose to rinse the suds out of the hot tub afterwards. You'll have a shiny hot tub again in no time.
Of course, some dirt may get on the outside of the hot tub. You don't need a cleaner for this. Often this is some splashing water from rain or mud or leaves, for example. You can simply rinse this off with the garden hose during cleaning. Do you want to keep the exterior nice and good? Then we recommend regular maintenance with tar oil for best results.
A very important part of a clean hot tub is the quality of the water. If you want your tub, meaning the hot tub, to stay clean make sure your water is always clean. You can ensure this by adding a filtration system during the purchase. In combination with AquaClean and a small chlorine tablet, for example, your water will stay clean.
Don't have this now? No problem! Even without a filter you can make sure the water stays clean. Only then it will be shorter than with a filter system. Make sure you replace the water with clean water on time. Not using the hot tub for a while? Never leave the water in it, but clean it and put the lid back on. This will keep the hot tub clean and fresh the next time you use it. If you do have a filter, it is not a problem to leave water in it for a longer period of time without using it.
