Enjoying peace and quiet in the hot tub

Hella hesitated for a while whether to go for a hot tub or a Jacuzzi. Because she really wanted to enjoy the peace and quiet, the choice was quickly made anyway: she went for a hot tub. "A jacuzzi does make a little bit of noise because of the bubbles and I preferred to be able to enjoy it in peace and quiet. I really liked a hot tub anyway, I had been in one before. The choice was quickly made. And to this day I am glad I made that choice. We have underwater lighting and a table for drinks and deliberately no bubble or jet system. Really totally relaxing. It's been the best purchase, really!"

The sauna also had to be there

When Hella was in the Experience Center in Nijkerk for the hot tub, she also saw the saunas already in the garden. "Everything is so beautifully displayed there that you think 'I want this in my garden too.' We then purchased the hot tub first. And sometime early this year a nice promotion came along, so then we also bought the sauna."

And she thoroughly enjoys that, too! "Really wonderful. We have a wood-fired sauna and it's very easy because within half an hour it's warm. If you very unexpectedly decide you want to go in the sauna, you can get in with half an hour. Very nice."

Delightful wellness days with the hot tub and sauna

Hella uses the hot tub about twice a month. She hasn't had the sauna very long, but plans to use it more often. "We want to try to go in the sauna about twice a week. Mainly because it's good for you. And very healthy. And besides that it feels so wonderful, so we do want to do that more often. And then once in a while such a wellness day with all the trimmings!"

Vacation feeling in the backyard

In her garden, Hella always wants to have a vacation feel. "A little Ibiza and Curacao style with a soothing atmosphere, so you feel like you're on vacation. And that in your own garden. The hot tub and sauna help with this very well. In principle, I wouldn't have to go on vacation, because I have everything at hand here. I also have a big garden for it. On one side of the garden is the sauna and on the other side is the hot tub. I also have an outdoor shower with it, so it's really finished now."

Her inspiration for the garden mostly comes to Hella from an island thousands of miles away. "My little island is Curaçao. I would love to live there, but unfortunately I can't right now. That feeling you have there is why I try to bring a little here to my own garden. I occasionally look on Pinterest, but mostly I do my own thing."

Floating and looking at the stars

Hella sometimes goes into the hot tub with her daughter or with her boyfriend, but she really prefers to unwind alone. "Then I lie floating in the hot tub. The hot tub is pretty big and I'm only small, so I can lie in it wonderfully."

"When I go into the hot tub, I usually do it at night. Especially with nice weather, it's great to look at the stars from the hot tub. I prefer it just nice and quiet. There is no need for music either. I am generally very bad at relaxing, but in the hot tub I really do unwind."

Extra relaxation with the sauna

The sauna also came for that extra relaxation. "And besides, it's just wonderful for your body. For example, my back was bothering me a lot, so I went to the sauna and after that it was over. You also notice in your body that you are getting older and the hot tub and sauna are both great for your muscles. So that side effect is very nice. But mostly I just wanted to turn my garden into a wellness garden, where you can relax in it."

Aromas complete the sauna session. Hella uses the scents eucalyptus and orange. "That's really relaxing! Suppose you have a bit of a cold, then the eucalyptus is especially nice. I haven't tried it in the hot tub yet, but I'm definitely going to. That seems really nice too."
