The ideal place for your outdoor sauna

A sauna in the backyard is the place to escape from the hustle and bustle of everyday life and relax completely. To do this, however, it is important that your sauna is in the perfect spot so that you can really unwind completely.

When choosing the right location for your outdoor sauna, there are several factors to consider. In this blog, we share tips for determining the ideal location for your sauna.

1. Ensure privacy

An outdoor sauna is a place where you want to completely unwind, so privacy is essential. Look for a location in your yard that is out of view of outsiders or create some privacy yourself through placed vegetation, fences or privacy screens.

2. Make the road passable

Your outdoor sauna wants to be easy to get to. This involves both the length and quality of the road to it. Make sure the road is easy to walk on. The path will probably get wet at times, so remember that even in this situation, the path does not get too slippery or muddy.

The desired distance from home to the sauna depends, of course, on the size of your garden. Do you have a large garden? Then it's just what you like. Whereas some prefer to be in the sauna as soon as possible, some like a slightly longer distance. A short walk from your home to the sauna can contribute to the feeling of escape and provides immediate cooling.

3. Go for a stable surface

A level, stable surface is crucial to the safety and durability of your outdoor sauna. Preferably choose a spot that is easy to level. Also consider drainage to prevent rainwater from accumulating around the sauna. More information about the different options for a stable surface for your Tønsauna can be found here.

4. Consider access to facilities

It is important that your sauna has access to the necessary amenities, depending on your chosen options. Do you have a wood-burning stove? If so, you probably want the wood close at hand. If you opted for an electrically heated sauna or went with the option of LED lighting, you'll need access to electricity. An electric stove requires power current. So, important points to consider when installing your outdoor sauna.

5. Choose an atmospheric setting

When it comes to the garden, personal taste is obviously important. You want the sauna to be a luxurious addition to your garden. Pick a nice spot where the outdoor sauna fits in with its surroundings.

Have you chosen a panoramic window? Then make sure when installing it that you choose a place with a view you can enjoy every time.

And then ... relax!

So when choosing the perfect spot for your outdoor sauna, a number of factors come into play. By choosing a location that meets both your taste preferences and practical considerations, you can fully enjoy relaxation and quality time in your own backyard. Time to step into the sauna and enjoy the peace and quiet!
