How long does it take for a hot tub to warm up with an external heater?
The heating time of a hot tub is affected by several elements, including the size of the Ducktub, the insulation present, the efficiency of the external hot tub heater, the outside temperature and the type of wood used for firing. When you heat the hot tub with an external stove, heating takes about 2 hours. Our smallest hot tub holds about 800 liters and the largest about 1700 liters. With the latter external stove hot tub, it takes about three hours for the water to be wonderfully warm.
How hot does the external heater of a hot tub get?
The external hot tub heater does not get hot itself. This is due to its unique two-compartment design. The inner one where the fire burns and an enclosing compartment filled with water. This ensures that the outside of the stove stays cool while the water is heated efficiently. The external hot tub heater heats the water to an average of 38 to 40 degrees Celsius. Depending on how intensely you fire, the temperature can go higher, as the stove does not have a fixed temperature setting, which means the water can get warmer.
