From old farmhouse to thriving B&B

When Denise and Frits took over the former farmhouse in the beautiful Algarve, it still needed some renovation. Over the years, they have transformed the location into a small-scale and attractive vacation accommodation that can accommodate 15 guests spread over 7 unique cottages. 

The best of both worlds

Casa Ferrobo offers the best of both worlds - staying in the real Algarve, away from the hustle and bustle of the popular coastal resorts, but within easy reach of all major attractions and facilities.

Beautiful scenery, golfing opportunities, numerous quaint villages and towns, and beautiful beaches are all within easy reach, in addition to an abundance of restaurants and bars in nearby São Brás de Alportel. Faro airport is 20 minutes away.

The addition of a Ducktub of Welvaere

The decision to add a hot tub from Welvaere was twofold. Frits and Denise themselves really enjoy the luxury and relaxation that a hot tub provides when they are somewhere. Especially during the colder months. For their guests, they wanted to add that extra touch of comfort and luxury, and when they don't have guests for a while, they also enjoy the hot tub themselves. "We also have a pool, but it's unheated. When it's colder outside, of course the pool is cold too. With the hot tub, though, our guests can enjoy the water and it's nice and warm as well."

Electric over wood-fired

That Frits and Denise chose an electric hot tub was a conscious decision. With dry summers and the risks of open fires in the region, they felt an electric hot tub was a safer and more user-friendly option. This choice also proved more practical for guests because now they don't have to plan ahead to use the hot tub. It's always nice and warm. That's a little different with a wood-fired hot tub.

More bookings and happy guests

Since they have had the hot tub, Frits and Denise have seen an increase in bookings. They also often hear from their guests that they are happy with this extra facility. Of course, the winters in the Algarve cannot be compared to those in our cold little country, but the hot tub offers wonderful comfort. Even when the summer evenings cool down in Portugal. 

Hot tub maintenance and management easy

Managing the hot tub proved easier than expected. With a filtration system and regular maintenance, it has proven to be a valuable addition that requires little effort. In fact, they are now considering expanding their system for even better water quality management.
