#withwelvaere experience story of Valerie and her family

The #withwelvaere client stories give you a peek into the wellness paradises of Welvaere's clients. This time I spoke with Valerie from Antwerp. She and her family are thoroughly enjoying a hybrid Ducktub Bjorn in the garden. They now spend wonderful moments together in the hot tub.

Model hot tub: Ducktub Bjorn (hybrid)

Since: February 2021

Living in: Antwerp

Together with: her husband and three sons (ages 3, 8 and 11)

A hot tub to spend more time together

We all know that daily life can be quite busy and hectic. Making time for each other sometimes falls by the wayside. That's where Valerie and her family have thought of something.

Valerie: "We are a family with three young children. My husband and I both work full-time, the kids all have hobbies and my husband also plays a lot of sports. So we have a super busy life. We have a hybrid hot tub* and when we fire it up to a nice temperature, we also have to take the time to go in it. Because then, of course, we put some effort into it."

*With a hybrid hot tub you enjoy the traditional feel of a wood-burning stove, as well as the convenience of an electric heater. You have both!

Before buying the hot tub, Valerie and her husband researched the options online. "When we read the positive reviews on Welvaere , we said: we're just going to check out the showroom. When we came to your place we received a detailed explanation and actually tied the knot right away.

Enjoy with and without children

Besides often sitting in the hot tub with the whole family, Valerie and her husband also love to go in it as a couple at night. "As soon as the kids are in bed, we take off the hood and crawl in. Then we have time to chat with each other. We enjoy that very much. Otherwise, you're still sitting in front of the television or doing household chores. Without exaggerating, we use the hot tub, when it's not raining, every day now!"

Valerie and her husband really relax from the warm water in the hot tub. "My husband does cycling. He does a lot of miles every day both in the morning and in the evening. He really says when he goes into the hot tub after cycling, his muscles are much less sore the next morning. And I also find, when you get out of the heat, back into the fresh air; that really does something to you. It's extremely relaxing I find!"

One winter and one summer enjoyed the hot tub

"We've had the hot tub up one winter and one summer now, and I myself have enjoyed it the most in the winter. When it's so cold outside, I love sitting in that warm water. In the summer I don't need it as much. My husband did sit in it a lot in the summer and the kids actually spent more time in it then, also for the cool down, of course."

Every moment its charm

Valerie doesn't have just one favorite moment in the hot tub. Just the two of us after a day at work or with the kids on Sunday morning, it all has its charm. "Nothing is as cozy as going to get pistolets from the bakery, going for a morning walk and then getting in the water with the kids to end the weekend. Then we often use the wood stove, too. We have three boys who are in scouting, they love to start a fire."

The family's friends also regularly come to enjoy the hot tub. "Since we have the hot tub, we are often the ones receiving the friends, haha. So too with New Year's Eve, then they come here and we get cozy in the hot tub!"

Sometimes fire wood, sometimes push the button

With the hybrid hot tub, of course, you choose whether to go for heating with the wood-burning stove or with the electric system. Very convenient, Valerie thinks. "We chose hybrid because I find the stoking and the smell of the wood extra cozy, but sometimes I also find it very convenient that I can just push the button and you don't have to look at it anymore. Also, the houses on our street are pretty close together. If the wind is a certain way, it can be that some smoke blows into the neighbors. On those days, we can heat it nicely all-electric."

The family's hot tub is always set at about 25 degrees, so they only need to fire or wait a short time before the water is at a nice temperature.

A cozy garden with play and relaxation area

We always find it interesting to know what kind of place our Ducktubs get. "We have for a built-up area, quite a spacious garden. We chose to split the garden in two. In the back we have chickens, runny ducks and that's where the kids play. In front against the house we have a terrace, with some plants and that's also where the hot tub is. With three children, there is usually little time left to work in the garden, but we try to make it very cozy!"

A fine tip from Valerie

"We recently discovered that it's wonderful to listen to a podcast in the hot tub! Then we choose together what podcast we want to listen to, which are usually those true stories. That's super cozy. Then I often say to my husband 'look how we're sitting here now' it's really lovely."
