That way mold can easily develop and you have a chance that the wood won't last as long. That way, the hot tub stands on a hard surface, but looks like it's just standing on grass. This provides just a little more strength and assurance that the hot tub will stay nicely in place. It also allows the water under the hot tub to drain more easily.

A wooden decking under your hot tub
