All of our Tønsaunas are so-called barrel saunas. Translated from English, it means "sauna in a large wooden barrel. Besides the fact that the round shape is unique and beautiful to look at, it also has many advantages over a rectangular sauna.

Due to the round shape of the traditional barrel sauna, the heat is better circulated when heating, it also prevents temperature differences in different corners of the sauna. With a rectangular sauna, the heat stays in the corners and with a barrel sauna it is automatically circulated around. This ensures that less heating is required and thus the barrel sauna is more economical than a rectangular sauna. The barrel sauna can be electric- or wood-fired, with both heaters it is possible to get the temperature between 80 and 100 degrees.
Barrel saunas provide optimal relaxation and freedom. With a barrel sauna you never have to visit a wellness resort again, you just have this in your own backyard. Away from the hustle and bustle of everyday life was rarely so accessible and close at hand. Carefree relaxation and letting time slip by is then not difficult at all, in a barrel sauna it happens all by itself.

A barrel sauna is made of 42mm thick thermo wood. The thickness of the wood ensures that the heat stays inside the sauna and almost no heat is lost. The barrel sauna stands on two to four wooden beams that ensure that the sauna remains stable. The stainless steel straps stretched around the barrel sauna provide more strength and a traditional look that fits perfectly in any garden. Our barrel saunas come standard with ventilation and drainage.
