Types of wooden hot tubs
There are all kinds of hot tubs on the market, made of various materials such as plastic, acrylic, LDPE and hybrid compositions. In terms of heating, you can choose from hot tubs with external heaters, internal heaters or integrated heaters. Moreover, different shapes are available, such as square, round, angular or oval.
Our wooden hot tubs combine traditional craftsmanship with modern durability and are made exclusively from top-quality materials. The inner tubs of our hot tubs consist of multiple layers of fiberglass-reinforced plastic, finished with high-quality coatings, including a protective barrier coating. For the wooden surround, we use only FSC-approved thermowood, known for its long life of 15 to 25 years, making our hot tubs a sustainable choice.
Our wooden hot tubs vary in shape and seating comfort. We offer both traditional straight seats and ergonomically shaped seats to ensure maximum relaxation. With a choice of angular, round, square and oval designs, you are guaranteed to find a wooden hot tub that perfectly suits your needs and the style of your garden. Each model reflects quality and luxury, designed to be a focal point of relaxation in your outdoor space.
How long does it take for a wooden hot tub to heat up?
The heating time of a wooden hot tub is affected by several factors, including the size of the Ducktub, the presence of insulation, the power of the stove, the outside temperature and the type of wood used for firing. Our smallest wooden hot tub holds 800 gallons of water and heats up to a comfortable temperature in about two hours. Our largest hot tub, with a capacity of 1,700 liters, reaches a lovely warm temperature within three hours.
Heating a hot tub with electricity takes longer than with a wood stove, about 1 to 2 degrees per hour. However, heating with biodiesel offers an attractive alternative. It is similar in speed to a wood-burning stove, but offers the convenience of electric heating by making it easy to adjust the temperature. Therefore, it is recommended to leave the heating element on continuously for constant heat. One of the great advantages of a wood hot tub that is always warm is that you can enjoy it at any time, perfect for spontaneous moments of relaxation.
How much electricity does a wooden hot tub consume?
A wood-fired hot tub requires no power unless you choose additional options such as a filtration system or bubble jets. These additions require electricity, but fortunately not power, which is an advantage over traditional Jacuzzis. For your wooden hot tub's filtration system, we recommend running it continuously, 24 hours a day. Other options such as bubbles, jets or lights use power only during use.
When electrically heating a wooden hot tub, you can expect the water to heat up at 1 to 2 degrees per hour. For this reason, it is wise to leave the heating element on continuously so that your hot tub is always ready for use. This ensures that you can enjoy a hot tub any time of day, ideal for those spontaneous moments of relaxation.
The exact power consumption of a wooden hot tub depends on the additional options chosen and the frequency of use. In the winter months, the heating element will consume more energy due to the lower outdoor temperatures, increasing power consumption. These variables make it difficult to determine specific power consumption without detailed knowledge of the conditions of use.
