Unwind in nature 🌿
Boshuisje Eden is on a private bungalow park in Meijel: bospark Stille Wille. Jennie says: "It's a very quiet bungalow park, with no activities for children, for example. It is aimed at people who come for rest, to walk and enjoy nature. The cottage itself is an attractive wooden cabin, equipped with all modern conveniences. The hot tub is in the backyard, so people have plenty of privacy. My guests are mostly between 25 and 35, couples or, for example, a group of girlfriends who want to get away from it all."
Guests get to work on their own
"I have a Ducktub Bjorn at the cottage that guests use during their stay. When they come here, the hot tub is clean and empty. If they want to get in it, they fill it themselves and also heat it themselves with the wood stove." This way, water and wood are only used for guests who actually use the hot tub, so no waste!
"For everyone, I put down enough wood and firelighters that they can use to heat the hot tub 1 time. In the welcome folder there is a clear manual for the guests to get started. I feel that the guests love doing it all themselves and being able to enjoy being outside."
The hot tub provides little (extra) work
"I always ask guests if they want to drain the hot tub before they leave as well. Then when I come to clean, the hot tub is often completely empty. I then clean the hot tub with a cloth and soapy water. That's about 10 minutes of work, very easy. Then the next guests can bathe again in a clean tub with fresh water."
A perk that drives more bookings
Jennie's guests use the hot tub enthusiastically! When she was open for 4 months, the hot tub was unused about 2 out of 40 times. "I have a guest book in the cottage and people often write in it that they really enjoy it. I feel that people book for this as well."
"I knew that if I was going to rent out a cottage, I would really want to do it with hot tub. In fact, I always look for that myself when I go on vacation. It really is an extra that can get people over the line to book. I also get messages via my personal Instagram quite often from people asking if I know of any nice cottages with hot tubs, so it really is something that is becoming more and more prevalent."
A few quotes from Jennie's guestbook 💚
- "A midweek Forest Cottage Eden, it was a celebration of rest, relaxation and being together. Hiking through the beautiful nature, enjoying the hot tub and the lovely beds; everything was fantastic!"
- "We really enjoyed our stay at the beautiful and cozy Boshuisje Eden. Drinking tea with delicious vegan cookies, hiking in De Groote Peel, reading a book and playing with the record player in the background and sitting in the hot tub under the stars. It was a very nice weekend away and we would definitely like to come back."
- "What a treat it was to stay here this week. We enjoyed a lovely walk at the Groote Peel, but also enjoyed the cottage itself immensely. The hot tub was wonderful! So nice to peer at the trees above you in the dark at night & at the beautiful cottage."
Neat guys 🙌
"My guests treat the hot tub really nicely. I've never had the thought, oh what have they done with it. Fortunately, no damage or major problems have occurred yet either. In the cottage I have a clear manual for using the hot tub. Heating a hot tub for the first time often takes some getting used to, so guests can always call me for help. I can recommend that other hosts include rules about the use of the hot tub in the general booking conditions, and indicate the procedure in case of damage. It's also helpful to check your insurance. Then you can offer this piece of luxury with peace of mind."
One thing is for sure; you will definitely unwind after spending a weekend or midweek at Boshuisje Eden! 😍
