With the Ducktub to France!

It is a dream for many: a lovely vacation home with a beautiful garden under the sun in France. A few times a year to escape rainy Netherlands and enjoy the French apéros (delicious apéritives at the end of the afternoon I learned). Extra enjoyment is when there is also a Ducktub of Welvaere in your garden.

Secretly, we are also a little bit jealous of André and his partner. He tells us about his Ducktub Bjorn, its location and the wonderful moments they spend in it.

Avec le bain à remous en France

In other words, taking the hot tub to France. Early this year, André Verburg and his partner bought a hot tub from Welvaere for their summer home in France. "We have a car trailer for an oldtimer and we had measured out that it would fit exactly on it. Employees at Welvaere helped us by securing the hot tub properly on the trailer. Then we quietly drove the hot tub to our summer home. It was in March, so the yard was still a little soggy. We couldn't get up there by car, so the handyman there put it in the garden with a telehandler. Over the plantings, he put it where it needed to be."

For Welvaere it is of course quite an honor to buy a hot tub from us in the Netherlands, and then take it to France. "You can of course find all sorts of things in France as well, but you shouldn't have too high a hat on the service and service. After we researched and read reviews, Welvaere came out very well there, so hence the choice."

André already had experience with a wood-fired hot tub. "We've had a hot tub before, but that was with a wooden tub. That was not a great success, because sooner or later those start leaking. And especially since we're not always there to maintain it, it does leak when we get there again."

Vacationing in France 6 to 8 times a year and thus the hot tub in

"When we put it up in March we tested out the hot tub right away, of course. Then we went back in June and reconnected the heater. We had removed it for a while because it does stand in plain sight and also in France you have dishonest people. After that we used it enthusiastically. The weather in June was not yet very exuberant, but we still sat in it quite often. Even with rain, because if the water is nice and warm, of course it doesn't matter."

"6 to 8 times a year we are in our summer house, sometimes for a few days and sometimes a little longer. But we also have friends and family staying at the house, which are also enthusiastic users of the hot tub."

"What I also find super convenient about this hot tub is that you can empty the it with a hose on the gardena coupling. You put it down where you want the water. So it doesn't get to places where you don't want the water."

Among laurel bushes under the French sun

Naturally, we are curious to know exactly where the hot tub is located in France. André explains: "It is in a corner of the garden, surrounded on two sides by laurel bushes that shelter it somewhat. On the other side we have a view of the garden and the house. We had a concrete platform made, because of course it is heavy, a hot tub filled with water. You can't just put it on the grass. It turned out very nicely, it stands there like a sun."

End the day with an apéro in the hot tub

"I find the best time to go in the hot tub is at the end of the afternoon. We are often working on the house or in the garden. At about 4:30/5pm, in France it's time for the apéro and then we get in the hot tub. We always bring nice drinks and snacks. Around the hot tub are stainless steel oil lamps for coziness. We love it. You see a lot of people who have a pool, but there is so much maintenance involved, and if you really want to be able to swim you have to be hefty too. I advise everyone to get a hot tub!"
